Dr. Peter Lammers, Ph.D.

Dr. Lammers is a Professor of Biochemistry and former Director of the Molecular Biology program at New Mexico State University. He has been cloning and sequencing DNA fragments to study the structure and function of genes from a variety of different organisms since 1982.

Dr. Lammers, along with Dr. John Spalding and Stefan Long started the Genetic Testing Laboratories in 2001. Lammers provided key testimony before the New Mexico State Senate Judiciary Committee in 2006 in order to get "Katie's" Law passed.

Designed to help identify serial violent offenders, this new law allows DNA samples to be obtained from individuals arrested for violent crimes, and the results compared with samples obtained from other crime scenes.
